Kharg Island Wildlife
The Kharg Island wildlife is very limited and it’s bound to deer herds, which are reduced day by day. Large and toxic snakes with lengths of 1 to 1.5 meters, and migratory birds are the other animals of the island.
Palmyra’s grave belonging to the Parthian period is one of the historical monuments of the island, which remains part of the inscriptions and carvings on its walls.
The only remaining Sassanid cathedral in the Persian Gulf is located above the rocks of the Kharg Island, which is called the Stone Church or the Nestorians Church.
